The Short Mystery Fiction Society
The Short Mystery Fiction Society is free to join, and is absolutely the best online group I have ever been a part of. It is made up of professional and non-professional writers who are all there to share their love of writing short stories in the mystery genre. The amount of free advice, information and help that I have received from this forum is incredible. And the best part, beside it's being free? No flame wars, idiotic postings or any of the other bothersome off-topic postings that seem to plague every other group on the Internet. Just free info on markets, inspiration, answers to ANY question you might have (like finding a good publisher, determining what kind of poison works best, how to use Cocal Cola to get unwanted liquids off of concrete (I don't have to explain that one, do I?).
You know...nice wholesome questions like that.
If you are a writer trying to break into the mystery field and wonder how others have done it before you, or if you simply want to see what other writers like yourself are doing, then definitely check this free group out.
Heck, they even helped me as I was setting up this website! And then they made me President!
And did I mention that it's FREE?

Kris Neri
Kris Neri is a great writer responsible for putting the hilarious Tracy Eaton into the public eye. Her two books Revenge of the Gypsy Queen and Dem Bones' Revenge will keep you laughing so hard you'll have trouble turning the pages...but do, because they are great reads. Her next Tracy Eaton book is Revenge for Old Times' Sake, and she'll be publishing Never Say Die, the first book of her new Zoey Morgan suspense series soon. Kris also has stories available on Fictionwise.
As if that isn't enough, Kris also teaches writing online, and runs the Well Red Coyote bookstore in Sedona. Check out her website for more information!

J.E. Seymour
This is writer J.E Seymour's homepage. I like her because her story Fish the the Trees was published in Shots Crime and Mystery Magazine, and by gum it's nice to see somebody else publishing crime stories with the word Fish in the title.

Kimberly R. Brown
Not only does she have a different quote every time you open the homepage -- this is a site with links! Believe me when I tell you that I'm greener than Kermit with envy. She keeps her extensive Market Listings up to date and also has tons of other links like Links for Writers, Mystery Links, Writing Exercises (they change every week), and Interesting Author Websites. There's even a link to a knitting blog!
